04-11-2022

Poland occupies a special place among the countries that help Ukraine in these difficult times.
On November 4, 2022, the 30th-anniversary concert “Heart for Heart” was held in the Polish city of Zabrze, which was organized by the Foundation for the Development of Cardiac Surgery named after Prof. Zbigniew Religa and was held under the honorary patronage of the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
As part of the concert, awards were presented for a special contribution to the development of cardiac surgery. The team of the Heart Institute became a laureate of the Medal named after Prof. Zbigniew Religa for achievements in the treatment of cardiac surgical patients during the war. Ihor Mokryk, head of the Department of Acquired Heart Defects, received the medal on behalf of the Institute’s team. This award is evidence of international recognition of the Institute’s achievements in the treatment of patients with cardiovascular pathology.
In turn, the General Director of the Foundation, Dr. Jan Sarna, its Creative Director, Doctor of Medical Sciences Zbigniew Nawrat, and the Deputy Director, Master Lukash Musa, were presented with Certificates of Honor on behalf of the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko. After all, from the very beginning of the war, the Foundation for the Development of Cardiac Surgery employees provided powerful medical and humanitarian support to our military and civilian hospitals, which helped save human lives.
