Aan International symposium «Actual issues of pediatric cardiac surgery» was held in the State Institution “Heart Institute by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”. Prof.Kalangos, the Chairman of the Department of Cardio-Vascular Surgery at University Hospital of Geneva and Prof. A. Petropoulos, chief pediatric cardiologist at the Merkezi clinic (Baku) participated in the Symposium.

A charity found «The heart in hand», which is founded by the Heart Institute employees with a mission is to help children with congenital heart disease from poor families, together with «Blagodom» company took with pleasure a charity initiative of organizing a New Year celebration for little patients of the pediatric department.

General Director of SI Heart Institute by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Boris Todurov visited Sumy town. The main topic was an introduction of a medical program «Stop infarction». This is a social program, which provides free stenting of heart arteries for the Sumy region residents, who suffer acute myocardial infarction.

First time in Ukraine on December 3rd, 2015, with the participation of Allan Stewart, the leading cardiac surgeon of Mount Sinai Hospital (New-York, USA), two unique surgical procedures for have been performed to cure two Ukrainian patients with ascending aorta aneurisms.

a Research and practical conference with international participants „Cardiomyopathies and Heart Failure” took place in the Heart Institute. The Associate Professor of Cardiac surgery from Mount Sinai Hospital (New-York, USA) Allan Stewart presented his lecture “Surgical treatment of aortic dissection – current tendencies and perspectives”.
The main purpose of the Professor’s visit was to do, first time in Ukraine, unique surgical procedures to treat the ascending aorta aneurism in two Ukrainian patients.

On the initiative of “Office of Regional Development” and the experts of the Kiev Heart Institute was held two-day on-site reception of patients with acquired heart diseases and ischemic heart disease.

In Kiev, at Heart Institute by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, under the patronage of the Ministry of Health, the Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons of Ukraine, University Hospital of Geneva (Switzerland) an international scientific and practical conference “Reconstructive heart surgery” took place.

Specialists provided consultations for cardiac patients (both adults and children). There were 2 specialist teams: one examined children at the Ternopil municipal pediatric hospital polyclinic, the other – at the cardiology department of the Municipal hospital № 2.

The social program – “Stop the Infarction”, which is run by the Heart Institute and municipal authorities, provides for free stenting for Kiev residents with myocardial infarction. This was stated by the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko during visiting Heart Institute.

Specialists of the State Institution “Heart Institute of Ministry of Health of Ukraine” (cardiologist, cardiac surgeon and specialist in ultrasound diagnostics) provided in Ternopil city municipal hospital №2 consultative examinations for more than 50 patients.
