The team of doctors (adult and children’s teams) together with the personell of the Department of Cardiosurgery, X-ray Endovascular and Extracorporeal Technologies of the Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (NMAPE) named after P. Shupik led by director of the Heart Institute Borys Todurov made a trip to the city of Mariupol in the Donbass during which cardiological and cardiosurgical profile patients were examined and the lectures for the doctors were conducted.

The Irpen Central City Hospital in the Kiev region hosted the guest scientific and practical conference “Actual Issues of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery” co-organized by the Heart Institute and the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (NMAPE) named after P. Shupik (Department of Cardiac Surgery, X-ray Endovascular and Extracorporeal Technologies, Functional Diagnostics).

The subjects of the plenary session included consideration of aspects of the diagnosis of aortic heart diseases and the use of modern cardiac surgical techniques, such as Ozaki’s operation, decalcification and transcatheter implantation of the aortic valve.

During the internship it was possible to take a part in the medical process, as well as assisting during the surgical interventions conducted by the chief of the clinic – prof. Benetis. During the surgeries the professor shared some surgical techniques including the author’s one. In addition, it was possible to take a part in super complicated interventions in the ascending aorta and reconstructive interventions on the mitral valve.

Director of the Heart Institute Borys Todurov recently returned from Kherson, where he has held a series of meetings with the leaders and medical workers of the region.
Within the framework of the trip, the patients of the region with congenital and acquired heart diseases were examined by specialists from the Heart Institute – cardiologists, cardiac surgeons (adults and children) and specialists in ultrasound diagnostics.

A team of doctors led by Director of the Heart Institute Borys Todurov carried out a volunteer trip to the Donbass (Marinka, Krasnogorovka), during which civilians and military men were examined.
