December 25, Heart Institute has carried out a unique operation – the caesarean section to a woman with complex congenital heart disease, who is pregnant with a child with congenital heart disease.

Almost a month was a preparation. The best obstetricians and neonatologists of Kiev were invited. Has been agreed terms of surgery, surgical and anesthetic teams, type of anesthesia, etc. On the appointed day the operation was successful. Mother has undergone surgery well.

The baby was born with a heart defect, in was examined by a neonatologist and cardiologist the first minutes of life. Heart disease is not life threatening and the child requires supervision of specialists.

Mom and baby are doing well.
