On November 1-2, 2022, the Heart Institute and the Department of Functional Diagnostics of the P. Shupyk National Institute of Health of Ukraine, held an interactive professional school “Methods of diagnosis of myocardial ischemia. Indications for coronary angiography and revascularization”.

About 50 cardiologists took part in the event, organized with the support of Arterium Corporation. The head of the Department of Functional Diagnostics, Prof. Oleg Zharinov highlighted in his lecture modern approaches to the diagnostics of acute and stable forms of Ischemic Heart Disease, the role of anatomical and functional patient management strategies. Associate professor Viktor Kuts discussed with the audience the criteria for differential diagnosis of coronary and pseudocoronary ECG changes. Head of the Department of Endovascular Surgery and Angiography of the Heart Institute, Andriy Khokhlov analyzed in detail the provisions of the 2021 recommendations of American experts on revascularization. Assistant Nataliya Lifantiyeva highlighted the features of modern management of patients with acute coronary syndromes without ST segment elevation using many practical examples.

The event initiates a new form of continuous professional development of doctors on the basis of the Heart Institute with the participation of the departments of the P. Shupyk National Institute of Health of Ukraine. Currently, a number of thematic school programs on various aspects of cardiology, functional diagnostics and cardiac surgery are being prepared.
