Last year, Dr. Per Snorre Lingaas, Head of the Thoracic Surgery Section at Oslo University Hospital, visited our Heart Institute in Kyiv. After seeing how we operate and save lives during the war, he invited our team to share this experience in Norway.
The visit turned out to be exceptionally intensive.
We began at Oslo University Hospital — the country’s only national center for heart and lung transplantation. Our team delivered lectures for the clinic’s staff about the work of the Heart Institute and the unique challenges of performing heart and lung transplants during wartime.
Next, we presented three reports at the Scandinavian Association for Thoracic Surgery (SATS) Congress in Trondheim.
A special point of pride — our colleague Sofiya Chaikovska received the award for Best Presentation of the Congress.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Per Snorre Lingaas, Dr. Arnt E. Fiane, and the entire team of the clinic for their warm welcome and partnership.
