The event was opened by professor A.K. Tolstanov talking about the importance of the creation of the Department of Cardiac Surgery, endovascular and extracorporeal technologies based on the Heart Institute for the preparation of highly qualified specialists in cardiac surgery. He noted the high professionalism and qualified staff and modern equipment of the Heart Institute, which provides an opportunity for young professionals and physicians with experience to master the latest technologies in a timely manner and to apply them in practice.

Head of staff department D.D. Briginets informed the participants about the stages of the competitive selection for the post of head of the “department of cardiac surgery, endovascular and extracorporeal techniques”, presented the results of a secret ballot of the Academic Council of the NMAPE named after P.L. Shupyk from June 15, 2016, congratulated the corresponding member of NAMS of Ukraine Professor Boris Todurov with his appointment, and introduced each employee of the department. He noted that within two months the chair has been completely quantitatively and qualitatively equipped with scientific and pedagogical staff.

Dean of the surgical Faculty congratulated Professor Boris Todurov with his appointment and noted that within two months the preparations for the full functioning of the department have been completed, the training plans and programs for new cycles of thematic improvement have been made up, while closer cooperation between the Department of cardiac Surgery, endovascular and extracorporeal technologies and SI “Heart Institute” of MOH of Ukraine contributes to the training at the present level.
Professor Boris Todurov informed the administration of the NMAPE about academic and working conditions in the department. Within two months, audience classrooms, offices for academic staff (professors, assistants) have been created and equipped with modern equipment, also a changing room for visitors has been arranged.
