The 3rd International Conference “Reconstructive Heart Surgery”, co-sponsored by the Heart Institute, was held with great success at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kyiv on October 24-25, 2019.

On October 22, 2019, at the Heart Institute, for the first time in Ukraine, a mechanical heart of the new generation was implanted – Medtronic Heart Ware 2 which is one of the most widely used Left Ventricular Assistance Devices (LVAD) in the world.

October 1-3, 2019, the First International Symposium on Thrombosis and Hemostasis was held in Odesa. Lectures, workshops, discussions, live discussions, debates and much more brought together the event organizers, speakers, and other participants at the educational venue. Doctors of the Heart Institute also attended this remarkable event.

On September 28, 2019, a momentous event for everyone who has relation to transplantology took place in Ukraine – a group of about thirty Ukrainians with transplanted organs conquered the highest peak of Ukraine – Gorverla. Specialists of the Heart Institute participated in this action.

Igor Mokryk – cardiac surgeon, Head of the Department of acquired heart defects of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine – had an interesting conversation with students of 3-4 grades of school № 333 in Kyiv at a vocational orientation lesson.

On September 23, 2019, at the Mariupol State University, a scientific and practical conference “Modern methods of treatment of cardiovascular diseases” was held.

The first Clinics Hub’s Center in Ukraine providing primary care to veterans and their families was opened in Borodyanka, Kyiv Region. The Heart Institute became the first partner of the Center. Director of the Heart Institute,

Adult’s and children’s teams of specialists of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine visited Rivne (“Rivne Regional Clinical Medical-Diagnostic Center named after V. Polischuk”). In one day 124 patients, 47 adults and 77 children, were examined and consulted.

On September 6-8, 2019, the 29th Annual Congress of the World Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons was held in the capital of Bulgaria Sofia. Doctors of the Heart Institute made two presentations at the Congress.

On August 15, 2019, two patients met at the Heart Institute during a routine examination, to both of them, Professor Borys Todurov implanted mechanical hearts in the fall of 2018 – 47-year-old Vasyl Pavlyuk from Ternopil region and 42-year-old Denis Volkov from Odesa.
