The idea of the conference was to discuss current guidelines for the diagnostics and treatment of venous thrombosis, pulmonary emboli, and post-thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. A presentation of Borys Todurov’s monograph “Pulmonary Thromboembolism: Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment” was held within the framework of the conference.

On September 6-7, 2018,
The International Conference was held in Odessa, in the multidisciplinary private clinic Medical Hub Odrex, where new technologies of treatment in cardiac surgery and X-ray endovascular surgery were discussed. Organizers of the conference attracted speakers from Ukraine, the USA, Italy, and Belarus and prepared a rich program for participants.

About 100 patients were examined, including 52 children with heart pathology, and extensive counseling on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases was provided. There were many children who were registered in the Sumy City Children’s Hospital, as well orphans living in the Children’s Home, and residents of the region.

Little Oleksiy, brought by Ambulance car to Kyiv from Kherson, became the second operated child with such a diagnosis. The baby is one of the twins. Together with his brother Andrew he was born on the 32d week of pregnancy. His little brother was born healthy, but Oleksiy immediately needed intensive care

The patient is a 62-year old man with a diagnosis – isolated severe mitral insufficiency. In the presence of concomitant pathology, an open operation was contraindicated. At the Heart Institute, the patient had an endovascular prosthetics of the mitral valve.

Recently, at the Heart Institute, a transfemoral (implantation) implantation of the last-generation prosthesis of the aortic valve was conducted on an 84-year-old woman having been diagnosed with critical aortic stenosis with apparent calcification of the openings of the aortic valve.
