The fifth heart transplant of this month took place tonight at the Heart Institute. It was difficult because the patient has already undergone more than one heart operation. In 2004, he underwent implantation of an aortic valve prosthesis at the Institute, but 17 years later he needed a transplant. The operation lasted 1.5 hours, everything went well.

At the Heart Institute, a surgery was performed on the heart of little Maya 6 hours after birth with a diagnosis of critical aortic stenosis. We had known the girl’s mother much earlier, to whom Prof. Borys Todurov implanted an aortic valve prosthesis in 2004.
