Advisory and diagnostic assistance to patients with heart defects and cardiovascular diseases were provided on the basis of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Clinical Cardiology Center, Children’s Regional Hospital and Children’s Polyclinic in Kolomyia. Several patients were selected for cardiac surgery. There were patients who needed a heart transplant.

Such a “Heart-team” worked today – Andriy Khokhlov, Maksym Rotar, Konstantin Boyko from the Heart Institute and Oleksandr Rusanov from the Sumy Dispensary took part in the remote consultation. The high-speed internet connection was provided via the Starlink terrestrial satellite station. As a result, a considered decision was made quickly, the patient underwent surgery and feels well.

Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, our delegation could not be present in London, but on behalf of the ECMO Center of the SI “HI of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” and the PO “Association of Anesthesiologists, Perfusiologists and Intensive Care Physicians” perfusionist Stepan Maruniak told about our experience ECMO in patients with ARDS caused by COVID-19.

For about a month now, specialists from the Heart Institute Olena Dudko and Natalia Ruban, have been conducting preventive examinations and consultations for children with cardiovascular pathology at the Khmelnytsky Regional Children’s Hospital.
Fleeing from the fighting and shelling, these children’s families moved to the Khmelnytsky region.

Recently a visit of specialists of the Heart Institute – cardiac surgeon Maksym Zaretsky and cardiologist, specialist in ultrasound diagnostics Oksana Ostrovska  took place in Tarashcha, Bila Tserkva district of Kyiv region. Consulting and diagnostics were provided to 30 adult patients with cardiovascular disease. The reception took place at the Vashe Zdorovya Medical Center – thanks to local cardiologist Olena Slyusarenko.

Consulting and diagnostics were provided to 75 patients, including 10 children. The reception took place on the basis of the Regional Central Multidisciplinary Hospital.

More than 60 adult patients with cardiovascular disease were examined and consulted. The team of the Heart Institute also brought from Kyiv much-needed humanitarian aid and consumables which had already been used in the evening same day during two operations on patients with acute heart attacks.
