The program covered the most relevant aspects of the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of dyslipidemias, acute and chronic forms of ischemic heart disease, and peripheral atherosclerosis.
Participants were welcomed by Professor Borys Todurov, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, who in his lecture highlighted the achievements of the Institute in cardiac surgery and transplantation, and addressed organizational aspects of referring patients for cardiac surgical interventions.
The attendees were introduced to the work of the departments of myocardial pathology, organ and tissue transplantation, cardiac rhythm disorders, adult intensive care, endovascular surgery, and angiography, and took part in clinical rounds.
The school’s format provided dedicated time for interaction with speakers, detailed discussion of complex clinical cases, and networking with leading specialists of the Heart Institute and the departments based at its clinical facilities.
