A large number of cardiovascular and noncardiac diseases accompanied by disturbances of rhythm and conduction of the heart (arrhythmia) that significantly impair quality of life and threaten the patient’s life, both directly and in the form of complications (stroke, worsening heart failure, syncope). Thanks to the rapid development of technology in the past decade we have the unique opportunity of surgical treatment of the majority of known disorders of heart rhythm and conduction. Beginning of 2007, the “cardiac surgery departments for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias,” runs a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic treatments of the heart rhythm disturbances. Specialists offices used methods of diagnosis and treatments, which harmoniously combines the use of cutting-edge equipment and technology with a care to the individual needs of each patient. Our doctors use the most modern methods of diagnosis to establish an accurate diagnosis and to select the most effective treatment in shortest possible time limits. Department has 20 beds, in single and double rooms.

Electrophysiological laboratory equipped with modern computer system specialized cardiological AXIOM Sensis XP (Siemens, Germany), which provides a complete algorithm hemodynamic and electrophysiological studies of the heart for children and adults, as well as mapping system elektro anatomic Sarto XP (Biosense Webster, USA), which allows you to design three-dimensional structure of the heart, whereby the highest result achieved to eliminate some of the most complex arrhythmias.

Department specializes in these types of investigations and surgeries:

1. Cardiac electrophysiology study (EPS) – a modern invasive diagnostic mechanism and anatomical substrate (source) arrhythmias 2. Catheter ablation following the electrophysiological studies of the heart stage to eliminate radio frequency anatomic substrate of arrhythmia 3. Implantation of antiarrhythmic devices – single-chamber pacemakers and double chambered (ECS) to the system of active and passive fixation electrodes 4. Retraction of endocardial electrodes using laser retractor 5. Implantation of cardiac resynchronization devices (three-chamber pacemaker) 6. Implantation of cardioverter-defibrillator – a treatment that prevents sudden cardiac death in life-dangerous arrhythmias 7. Procedure MAZE-III – surgical technique for treatment of atrial fibrillation in patients with organic heart disease during surgery with extracorporeal circulation (as a separate stage in the complex cardiosurgical patients with coronary artery disease). 8. The resumption of rhythm by electrical cardioversion  Department works closely with all the other departments of the hospital to detect the causes of arrhythmias and conduction for cardiac surgery to be carried out.
