Behind every transplantation stands a team of specialists, complex decisions, and one shared goal — to save lives.
Recently, thanks to the cooperation between the Clinical Center for Pediatric Medicine and the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, a donor heart was successfully delivered to a 12‑year‑old girl. Today, her new heart continues to beat, giving her a future.
The Clinical Center for Pediatric Medicine was honored to welcome Professor Borys Todurov — Director of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, and one of the country’s leading cardiac surgeons. During the meeting, he shared his experience in pediatric heart transplantation and spoke about how Ukrainian medicine fights every day to give children a chance at life.
A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by Bohdan Malovanyi, Acting Director General of the Clinical Center for Pediatric Medicine, and Professor Borys Todurov, Director of the Heart Institute. The agreement provides for collaboration in heart, kidney, liver, and lung transplantation, as well as specialized care for patients with cardiovascular diseases.
Ahead lies joint work, exchange of expertise, and the implementation of vital decisions — all for the health and lives of our patients.
