May 18-19 2012, team of experts from the Kiev Heart Center led by Prof. Boris Todurov visited Moldova.

The delegation was warmly and friendly greeted by colleague doctors who showed them clinic, department of congenital and acquired heart diseases, cardio ICU and operation rooms.

During the visit, two surgeries were performed: newborn baby with complex congenital heart disease received the double Glenn anastomosis; aortic valve replacement with mitral plasty was performed on an adult patient. Accumulated research and practical experience were discussed after the surgeries.

Also, all the seriousness and interest in collaboration was expressed by Minister of Health of Moldova -Andrei Vusatii, who met all the members of team and thanked them for the visit. During the meeting with the Minister an agreement on long-term beneficial cooperation between Kiev Heart Center and the Republic of Moldova in the cardiology and cardiac surgery was signed.

To sum up – the visit was very productive and interesting for both sides. We are looking forward to further developing our scientific relations with colleagues from Moldova.
