The Next Issue of the Journal “Cardiac Surgery and Interventional Cardiology”

On the eve of Christmas, the third issue of the journal “Cardiac Surgery and Interventional Cardiology” this year and the 44th since its founding appeared. The founder and editor-in-chief of the journal is Prof. Borys Todurov.

The significant scientific reputation of the publication is provided by the employees of the Heart Institute, Shupyk National Institute of Health Care of Ukraine, leading specialized institutions of the country. Since its establishment in 2012, the publication has been constantly expanding its presence in scientometric databases, actively involving international experts, and gradually increasing the number of publications in English.

This work is an important component of the successful integration of Ukrainian cardiology and cardiac surgery into the international community.

For the first time, the topic of the next issue was heart transplantation in Ukraine. Without exaggeration, a milestone for the Institute was the article by a group of employees of the Heart Institute together with colleagues from Sweden and the USA, which summarized the results of 106 consecutive cases of heart transplantation in adults and children, performed by the Heart Institute team during 2019-2024.

Interesting for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and doctors of related specialties are new publications by employees of the Heart Institute, dedicated to the Ross operation, treatment of patients with lesions of the left main coronary artery, Bentall operation, TAVI procedures, as well as endocardial ablation for ventricular tachycardia. The issue also published articles by employees of the Strazhesko Institute of Cardiology, Clinical and Regenerative Medicine of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and the Danylo Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University.
