Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine at InScience Conference 2026

Sofiia Chaikovska, our cardiac surgeon and transplantologist, delivered a presentation entitled “Cutting‑Edge Technologies in Heart Transplantation During Wartime.”

She spoke about how we perform transplants in the most difficult circumstances — how donor hearts are delivered when roads are unsafe, and how lives are saved even under shelling. The audience responded with a wave of applause.

A particular highlight was the Innovation Exhibition, where a unique development was showcased — a prototype of a military hybrid drone adapted for transporting donor hearts. This project is the result of joint work between the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and Ukrspecsystems.
