On June 13, 2017 The Irpen Central City Hospital in the Kiev region hosted the guest scientific and practical conference “Actual Issues of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery” co-organized by the Heart Institute and the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (NMAPE) named after P. Shupik (Department of Cardiac Surgery, X-ray Endovascular and Extracorporeal Technologies, Functional Diagnostics).

70 doctors-cardiologists, physicians, physicians of functional diagnostics, family doctors, as well as attendees of the guest study at the functional diagnostics department “Clinical electrocardiography” hosted in Irpen took part in the conference. The conference was opened by A. Tumasov, the chief physician of the Irpen Central City Hospital.

The reports on the surgical treatment of pulmonary thromboembolism were made by the General Director of the Heart Institute, the head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery, X-ray Endovascular and Extracorporeal Technologies of NMAPE, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, prof. Boris Todurov. Associate Professor of the same department Oleg Zelenchuk told about the management of patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy, and the assistant professor of functional diagnostics Victor Kuts reported on the standards of diagnosis and treatment of stable ischemic heart disease, the head of the functional diagnostics department prof. Oleg Zharinov told about the use of dual antiplatelet therapy.

The conference further promotes active cooperation between the departments of the Academy’s clinical centers and the medical institutions of Irpen and of the regions adjacent to it.
