Acute Coronary Care Department functions in the Heart Institute since 2014, according to rise of the number of emergency hospital admissions and endovascular treatment options for acute cardiac conditions introduction. Doctoral staff of the department includes cardiologists and anesthesiologists-intensivists, who on the day-and-night basis ensure admission and treatment of the patients with such diseases and conditions:

• Acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina and acute myocardial infarction)
• Massive pulmonary embolism
• Life-threatening heart rhythm disturbances
• Exudative pericarditis with tamponade

Perioperative treatment of the patients, undergoing coronary or brachiocephalic artery angioplasty/stenting, endovascular treatment of aortic aneurism, septal alcohol ablation for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, intracardiac occluders implantation and other endovascular procedures.

The department has 18 beds, which are located in the intensive observation wards. Every bed is equipped with multifunctional patient monitor; the department also has mechanical ventilation equipment for noninvasive and invasive ventilation, defibrillators, temporary pacemakers and relevant disposables, portative ultrasound machine. Working “24/7” schedules, in close cooperation with coordination emergency services of the city, with departments of the Institute and other healthcare institutions, we provide timely, uninterrupted and high-quality healthcare to our patients.
