XIII Scientific and Practical Conference “Orphan Diseases in Cardiology”

On November 7–8, the XIII Scientific and Practical Conference “Orphan Diseases in Cardiology” took place in Lviv. The event was organized by Professors Yuriy Ivaniv, Nelya Oryshchyn, and Mykhailo Sorokivskyi, Head of the Department of Radiology at the Faculty of Postgraduate Education of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University.

The Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was represented by Dr. Olha Ushakova, Head of the Department of Radiology, who delivered case-based presentations on:
1. Fabry disease — a rare genetic (orphan) disorder affecting the heart. How can it be detected in time?
2. Cardiac MRI after heart transplantation — monitoring the transplanted organ and preventing complications.

Rare diagnoses require special expertise. Sharing knowledge with colleagues helps us better understand orphan diseases and save patients’ lives.
