Training on Holter ECG Monitoring

On April 15-16, 2025, a training on mastering practical skills “Holter ECG monitoring for extrasystoles and paroxysmal tachyarrhythmias” was held at the clinical base of the Heart Institute. This event was organized by the Department of Functional Diagnostics of the Shupyk National University of Health Care of Ukraine with the technical assistance of Imesk. The training was held in person with the participation of cardiologists and doctors of functional diagnostics from different regions of Ukraine. The lecturers were scientific and pedagogical specialists of the Department of Functional Diagnostics Prof. Oleh Zharinov, Associate Prof. Anna Verezhnikova, Assistant Natalia Lifantieva, Doctor of Functional Diagnostics Natalia Yevtushenko. The training was registered on the website of the Testing Center at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine under the auspices of the University as a Continuous Professional Development event.

The training topics covered algorithms for processing Holter recordings using the ECG Pro ECG monitoring system in patients with extrasystoles and paroxysmal tachyarrhythmias, as well as clinical interpretation of the obtained data based on the latest recommendations and case analysis from practice. Before the training, the software was installed on the personal computers of the trainees. The training included the preparation of homework by the trainees – analysis of original Holter recordings, with the formation of a research conclusion.

The department sees a significant need to expand the topics of continuous professional development activities for doctors in functional diagnostics. The experience gained and the feedback from the trainees will be taken into account when planning the next Continuous Professional Development events.
