Internship of Heart Institute Doctors at Medizinische Hochschule Hannover

During the week, doctors from the Heart Institute – Prof. Borys Todurov, Sofia Chaykovska, Igor Kuzmych, Mykola Melnyk – underwent an internship at the Medizinische Hochschule Hannover (MHH) – a European leader in lung transplantation and mechanical heart implantation.

Thanks to participation in the Eurotransplant system, MHH has access to donor organs from all over Europe and one of the largest waiting lists for transplantation due to successful postoperative patient management.

During the internship, our doctors:
▫️Studied the latest techniques of heart and lung surgeries;
▫️Joined the organ harvesting process in different countries;
▫️Mastered modern perfusion technologies;
▫️Acquainted themselves with the work of the research laboratory.

The knowledge and experience gained will help us improve care for Ukrainian patients and develop domestic transplantation.
