The Head of the Functional Diagnostics Department, Prof. Oleh Zharinov, participated in the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) Congress, held from April 7th to 9th, 2024, in Berlin. The EHRA Congress serves as the most authoritative platform for presenting scientific research results in the field of arrhythmology, including catheter-based methods for treating cardiac arrhythmias, device implantation, and pharmacotherapy.
During the congress, over 120 scientific sessions, numerous practical seminars (including ECG diagnostics), and simulation workshops took place. “Hotline” sessions presented the latest findings from randomized and cohort studies on the most relevant aspects of managing patients with cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. The consensus of international societies regarding catheter-based atrial fibrillation treatment was also announced. Particularly intriguing were the scientific debates in a “pros and cons” format, addressing controversial aspects of modern arrhythmology.
The scientific program included a presentation by staff members from the Functional Diagnostics Department and the Heart Institute focusing on the management of patients with persistent atrial fibrillation episodes. Direct participation in the congress was crucial for maintaining essential connections with colleagues from other countries and learning about educational forum organization experiences.
