On June 7, 2023, the educational seminar on Dyslipidemia, Atherosclerosis, and Coronary Heart Disease was held, organized by the Heart Institute and the Shupyk National University of Health Care of Ukraine. The seminar, which took place in a hybrid format, was registered by the Testing Center at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine as an event for the continuous professional development of doctors. 220 doctors of various specialties registered for participation in the seminar.
In his introductory speech, the Director General of the Heart Institute, Professor Borys Todurov welcomed the participants of the seminar. He spoke about the Institute’s achievements regarding the latest approaches to surgical and interventional treatment for patients with acute and chronic forms of coronary artery disease and emphasized the importance of introducing modern educational programs for doctors of various specialties related to providing care to patients with coronary artery disease.
The scientific program of the seminar included a consistent and comprehensive presentation of aspects of the pathogenesis of dyslipidemias, diagnosis and treatment of atherosclerosis and its complications in the practice of a cardiologist, functional diagnostics doctor, interventional cardiologist, and cardiac surgeon. A significant contribution to the implementation of this program was made by the employees of the Heart Institute (Andriy Khokhlov, Iryna Shkurat), the Department of Functional Diagnostics (Oleg Zharinov, Lilia Tkachenko), and invited lecturers – the head of the Department of Cardiology, Laboratory and Functional Diagnostics of the Karazin Kharkiv National Univerity, Professor Vira Tseluiko and chief researcher of the Strazhesko Institute for Cardiology, Clinical, and Regenerative Medicine Dmytro Ryabenko.
