A child with congenital heart disease and a rare co-morbidity – unbalanced chromosomal abnormality (breakdown of the chromosome, a man grows very slowly) was operated in the department of pediatric cardiac surgery at the Heart Institute in early December.
After a long search in Ukraine and abroad clinics, which would decided to perform a radical correction, the girl’s parents asked for help in the Heart Institute. Despite of the high risk of surgery and a lot of possible complications in the postoperative period, the child was successfully operated and transferred for further nursing in Children’s Hospital in Poltava.
