Annual Conference on Functional Diagnostics of Cardiovascular Diseases

On March 13-14, 2025, the Shupyk National University of Health Care of Ukraine and the Heart Institute held the 13th Scientific and Practical Conference “Functional Diagnostics of Cardiovascular Diseases”. The main goal of this annual conference was to familiarize practicing doctors with the modern capabilities of functional diagnostic methods in cardiology. More than 400 doctors of various specialties from all regions of Ukraine, including experts in cardiology and functional diagnostics, heads and representatives of specialized departments, pre-registered to participate in the forum. The conference was registered as a CPD (Continous Professional Development) event, it was held in the conference hall of the Heart Institute with the online broadcast.

The conference began with a speech by the Director of the Heart Institute, Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery, X-ray Endovascular and Extracorporeal Technologies of the Shupyk National Institute of Health of Ukraine, Prof. Borys Todurov. He spoke about innovations in the work of the Institute and the departments located on its basis over the past year, focusing in particular on the Institute’s achievements in the field of transplantology.

The conference topics covered modern aspects of electro- and echocardiographic diagnostics, Holter ECG monitoring, assessment of respiratory function and sleep apnea, and the use of implanted devices. The most powerful contribution to the implementation of the scientific program was traditionally made by specialists of the departments of the University and the Heart Institute (B. Todurov, A. Khokhlov, O. Zharinov, V. Kuts, N. Lifantieva, L. Tkachenko, O. Yepanchintseva, Ya. Skybchyk, E. Novikov). The conference was attended by invited leading specialists from related departments of Karazin Kharkiv National University (V. Tseluyko), Danylo Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University (N. Orishchyn, M. Sorokivskyi), Volyn Regional Center for Cardiovascular Pathology (A. Yagenskyi), Strazhesko Institute of Cardiology, Clinical and Regenerative Medicine (O. Irkin), Mirum Clinic (D. Al Qaddah).

An interactive master class on electrocardiographic diagnostics of arrhythmias and heart blocks was held as part of the conference, registered as a separate event of the CPD of doctors. The involvement of listeners was facilitated by online voting on the discussion of dozens of clinical cases.

The conference became an important event in the cooperation of specialized departments where cardiology and functional diagnostics are taught. Conference participants will receive certificates in accordance with the requirements of the Testing Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
