For the first time, a report on the work of our transplant team during the war was presented for active participation at the European Congress of Cardiothoracic Surgeons which took place in Lisbon. Prof. Borys Todurov highlighted the problems faced by Ukrainian doctors, told the European community about the terrible realities and consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, and shared his experience in heart transplantation during the war.
Our experience aroused great interest and support from colleagues from all over the world.

The team of doctors of the Heart Institute:
▫️ Familiarized with the latest technologies in cardiac surgery;
▫️ Attended master classes from leading specialists;
▫️ Attended an exhibition of medical equipment – from simple tools to drones for ECMO transport.

We saw that Ukrainian cardiac surgery does not just keep beating – it develops and surprises the world! We thank the organizers for the opportunity to present Ukraine at such an important congress.
